18th century Chinese hand painted wallpaper in the dining room of the Lightfoot House in Colonial Williamsburg was the inspiration for this exquisite pattern. The decoration incorporates blossoming trees, hanging baskets of flowers and exotic birds. Chinese decorative arts, known as Chinoiserie, were popular in the 18th century and continue to be today.
